I didn't say (or mean to imply) PPT were the cause.
Rather they exaggerate a price movement by their selling style - go back to the chart and the PPT announcements for MCP in the lead up to the low of 28.5c in late Feb 2009.
Subsequent to PPT finishing their selling, and some sort of common sense returning to the view on the stock it rose to $3.30 about 9 months later.
