The company has started 2012 with a rapidly firming development plan for a world-class potash project in Eritrea on the Horn of Africa, and some very firm corporate objectives regarding partners too.
“We want the right strategic investor, right for South Boulder and right for Eritrea”, Hughes says, a comment which suggests that neither the company nor the Eritreans want a self-interested end-user on the share register who may seek to restrain sales prices for the potash from Colluli.
Hughes insists South Boulder has no intention of “giving the company” away, but he’s reluctant to talk about just how much of South Boulder directors are willing to part with.
the company is eyeing debt or project funding from "non-conventional", non-Western sources such as Chinese banks or Middle East sovereign wealth funds.
