Thanks for voicing this. I hope it brings our countries together. A lot of New Zealanders including myself have family in both countries, which makes our countries family too. In NZ, we're surrounded by ocean and nothing like this ever happens on our shores. In a lot of ways Australia is the same. When you hear about radicals and terrorist attacks, it's always somewhere else but 'at least we're in NZ' and 'terrorism would never happen here'. I think in many ways it's like a death of innocence for NZ and maybe Australia too to some extent. It's a terrible reminder that we're not immune to the evil individuals and ideologies.
