    It would depend on the formation of oil... I remember a geologist saying that in this formation oil migrates upwards until it is trapped under limestone... so if the findings reflected the survey, and they have drilled passed the HC area then they may have stopped. Usually once they drill past the oil and hit salt water in the sandstone, then they may as well stop becaue the oil would have migrated upwards

    I can't seam to find a negative reason to why they stopped before total depth unless they have drilled passed their HC zone but still in the sandstone region...

    I'm just speaking from memory of a conversation with a geologist... I wouldnt be surprised if none of this is accurate!
