>>Furthermore, I've spoke to an analyst who has seen a product demonstration of Nexcode, and according to this (non-expert) analyst, the technology (plus NBS head office environment) looks legitimate.
Based on all the info at my disposal, my gut tells me that NBS has a legitimate, workable technology, backed by legitimate software engineers etc. However, my gut also tells me that the technology has never been seriously stress tested, and its potential has probably been massively exaggerated by management.<<
Whilst I agree with 95% of Ousia's Post I am even more fearful that the products themselves are nowhere near world class, as claimed. As a purported ex-contractor from NBS contacted to me to give me very detailed explainations into why the technology is amazingly 'SIMPLE'. Simple in a bad way, in that they cannot get a Patent over technology that is already used in 1000s of differing ways. He stated that he used to be in meeting with NBS Directors and they would try to think of ways on how to exaggerate the enhancements to their products, over competitors. This ex-contractor continued to state that whilst he may seem like he was having a winge...He believed that these Directors crossed the legal line far too many times. To the point that he needed to leave, as he could not over exaggerate the products to the extent that they wanting him too.
Now originally being an IT Sales Manager I know it is a fine line to overstate the technology. To seal the deal you will make all the promises in the world. Through my eyes they have done this and many receivers of the products are now not happy- IMO.
I believe that the receivers of the tech have not agreed on pricing and may not be satisfied with the end result. Which is very common in the IT Industry... IMO
To me, it all makes sense, as I have been on the edge between client expectations and trying to deal ethically.
The Oracle founder is a perfect example of an over exaggerating founder who pulled it off. He promised more and more to clients and pushed the techos to succeed. I do not think NBS Directors are going to be this good- IMO. It is possible yet highly improbable.
