Spoke to a broker mate... the funny trades were likely an overhang from a retail investor when the big guys started buying and selling...... there is a buyer in the market with 17,177 shares... the first seller books their trade for (say) 500,000, SEATS allocates 17,177 to the retail guy and the rest to the buying broker, leaving 17,177 unfulfilled... next line comes through, closes the first line (trade of 17,177) and leaves the balance on the bid... next buyer comes through with a big line, takes the remaining line and leaves 17,177 on the ask.... and so on... until all the bigger lines are done and then the retail trades wash out the difference....
so nothing sinister, just the way the trading workds in a screen based system sometimes.
