BLINK ! ! I am glad you brought the Deer back into the spotlight... iffonly for a diversion from what is taking place.
Deer Valley scheme is certainly NOT a non-event, it is a significant event and we are seeing the fallout from that event at the moment with volume and price.
Dollar values can (and probably will) be quoted which suggest the dollar effect is miniscule so far compared with current number of shares, a woolly and blind argument indeed akin to adding up the buy side total and saying that is the grand total of trading required to move the price up to a certain level.
The scheme potentially multiplies the current number of shares by such a factor that is very significant and will be factored into any financial discussions, saying that it won't be used if PPA's come through is naive, it is there to provide for shortfalls in capital and works very well in a rising and volatile market where fewer shares need to be issued to get to the maximum issue value.
There is nothing like a positive statement to kick off such an environment and there is scope for plenty of those if the project unfolds, hence the attraction widens to include non-investor holders.
Anyway, with so few trades occurring in PAX in the recent past it is good to create some liquidity so that interested parties can exercise that interest without relying on dusty certificates holders who are reluctant to part with further capital so it achieves it's purpose on a quite few different levels, which is significant so certainly not a non-event, except if you only look at the recent dollar amount and dismiss everything else about it....
