Where does this leave EWC? (FROM YAHOO POST)
LNG 17 in Houston - Shell
Last week's gathering in Houston - Shell's booth was plastered with proposals for Modular LNG plants, using the Chart Industries/Siemens technology. Does this remind you of something ??
Right !! EWC also uses the Chart/Siemens technology.
Shell has, therefore, validated this technology. Plants will take 18 to 24 months to build and will be a lot cheaper than onshore conventional plants. A revolution in building LNG plants.
Could it be that Shell now goes to the PNG government and proposes their modular technology which can go into production in 2016 (thereby following the government's wish) and now just needs to do a deal with IOC on the gas reserves.
What a thought.
Would Exxon want Shell as a neighbour ?
Or could it be that now that Shell has validated the EWC technology, that the PNG government will say to IOC just go ahead now, who needs Shell to build them.... They are out of Petromin now too.
