I suspect the most likely outcome of the Rigid division is that the manufacturing will be shut down and products sourced from PGH. The interwtined relationships between Rigid and Industrial customer base would not allow PPG to be able to seperate the business.
Eventually PPG will become a pure distribution play as PGH has the manufacturing scale.
At some stage Ruffy will need to do something abou PPG whether he sells his stake or PGH buy the lot. A lot of the businesses that PPG have been buying would fit nicely into the Amcor spin off Aoroa or whatever they call it.
