Part 2- Oyu Tolgoi [Following on from yesterday^s post]
Preamble: To follow DGR Global>SOLG>Oyu Tolgoi:
1) DGR Global owns some 15% mark of Solgold (please check latest %).
2) Nicholas Mather Interview with Hotcopper mentions Solg (see above video). Various other quarterlies of late mentions that SOLG is the largest sub by mkt to mkt cap. Currently, Solgold share price is 26.5 pence, Mkt Cap £401 million.
3) Bob Sangha, Banker-Maxit Capital of Canada mentions that Cascabel is the "best discovery since Oyu Tolgoi." Maxit Capital are investment bankers and M & A Strategist to Solgold, listed in London and Canada.
4) Solgold has just raised £45 million with a Canadian syndicate lead by a Top 5 Commercial Bank at 25 pence.

<>SOLG Annual Report just issued said that PFS will be end of 2018 whilst Maiden Resource Statement for Alpala {1 target at Cascabel, Ecuador}. Link posted and can be found at https://twitter.com/SolGold_plc
In the previous post which is linked to this, I have set out the financing of Oyu Tolgoi just to illustrate the types of banking and international institutions that were involved and the sums ie in billions. This was not done overnight.

Nicholas Mather, CEO of Solgold
In addition to Cascabel, Northern Ecuador came the news announcement of the discovery of La Hueca, Southern Ecuador [already posted].
TASK AHEAD:
By now, one is aware that BHP & Newcrest were in the mix in 2016 re: Investment in Solgold. Solgold took the Newcrest investment over BHP.
Right now, Solgold has s t i l l retained its full 85% ENSA, Ecuador which owns Cascabel with Cornerstone Resources owning the other 15%.
However, on the new tenements eg La Hueca etc, Solgold owns 100% interest.
Naturally, Solgold is continuing with the drill out of Alpala prior to the Maiden Resource Report and Hole 34 results is awaited.
<><> Will a Major appear or is already on board or none needed if go it alone?

"Legendary mining financier Robert Friedland quits in Rio Tinto shakeup"- 18 Apr 2012, Mining.com
Link: www.mining.com/legendary-financier-robert-friedland-to-quit-in-rio-tinto-shake-up/ [If the link does not work, type this title into a search engine]
Extract:
"...as part of a US$3.3 billion financing deal .... which led to Ivanhoe*s CEO & Founder Robert Friedland.
Ivanhoe said the the deal with Rio contains a comprehensive financing plan structured to secure Rio*s direct participation in, and support for, FUNDING of developments at Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold project in Mongolia, the co*s Flagship project.
The funding is in addition to $1.8 billion in interim funding that was agreed in Dec 2010. The deal will also see that Rio which owns 51% stake in Ivanhoe Mines, nominate 11 of the co*s 13 member board ."
At the bottom of readers comments: " His resignation was one of the conditions established in the deal."
[Note: Prior to all this was a court battle involving a takeover " p...pill" and one is aware who won. Rio was the major who arrange the financing as in part 1 of this post as linked and I gather it took 4 years]
Whilst NO two stories are the same, nevertheless several factors to bear in mind:
1) Cascabel is at a very early stage moving closer to PFS end of 2018 [planned].
2)So much more to come....
3) Will Solgold in the end manage the Cascabel production and succeed where Friedland failed via the court battle etc? (Please read as its too long to post)
I am not suggesting that there is going to be a court battle since there is no p...pill defence seen.
4) Will Solgold obtain the financing by themselves with the help of Newcrest if they are the one*s to JV etc in whatever combination? Or will there be another major who will actually JV into the project/s? Or will Solgold manage to obtain the financing themselves?
Hence, why Berenberg*s View as posted said that the said £45 million financing is the 1st institutional raise etc etc.
This is a story that will run and run. There may be even more t w i s t s to come.
So, please do due diligence.
