Those shares weren't a related party transfer because they were sold to several buyers in the queue at 10c, including myself.
I am as frustrated as anyone else here about the sp, but I believe that is down more to a general lack of interest in the company's business model rather than anything else. Indeed, an exuberance free zone.
And that includes executive compensation, lack of shareholder communication or manipulation. There are companies run purely for the benefit of management st shareholders' expense, but DGR is hardly in this category. If I have any gripe with their compensation, it is that they may be trying to do too much at once.
Who is manipulating the sp down and why? I certainly don't see anyone acquiring in large quantities, and in the one year where Solgold has grown into what it is now, DGR's share register is barely changed, in the top 20 or the total number of shareholders.
NM's control of DGR is firm, to put it mildly which is a double edged sword. I was very glad to see Tribeca's involvement. I hope they know what they're doing.
Is DGR a holding company? An explorer? A producer? Prospect generator? It is some of everything, but not all of anything.
It has fantastic assets relative to its price, but shareholders have received very little real time returns (as some other poster put it) over the years. So clearly no one is buying in for the dividends either!
Based on the history of the company since I have been in it, I can't find a case for its sp to trade at nta, but I can't find a case for it to be trading at just over half it's holdings in Solgold alone either! And I think that's the problem with a company like DGR. What should it trade at?
I haven't a clue what the company can, or should do for shareholders, especially given its need to constantly support the subs.
I wish they'd just sell Solgold for a lot of money and give us a large chunk of it, but NM is gonna stick to his own script on how it will play out.
But of course, whether a company is worth investing in or not is based on an interaction between it's current share price and future prospects, and difficult to value as DGR is, I am hopeful that the current price will result in a good outcome for shareholders.
Perhaps a move to the AIM will do the trick. Access to a new pool of investors.
And I don't think I have ever seen a director unload any shares on market. Definitely not NM himself for sure though.
