Copied a post from 'Lottohopes' on the Solomon Gold Share Chat (SOLG) forum which might give some explanation as to how large and deep copper/gold deposits can be mined successfully and at a profitably mined. Recommend reading first referred article:

Just a general reading article. There is a lot of complex modelling calculations in the paper, but the graphs are easy to understand. I was looking at comments in the AG Macquarie article (first link) and comparing with comments from this USGS paper.

Macquarie paper compares two projects of SAME tonnage ie 500MT ore. That’s a piddly amount, for a project like Cascabel.
In the USGS document, a comment on page 10:
“The giant deposit group clusters in the large-tonnage region of the copper grade-tonnage diagram for the general porphyry copper deposit model ( g. 3, 45-percent copper resource group), and giant porphyry copper deposits have been developed in a wide variety of settings. The implication for an economic filter is that these deposits can be considered economic under NEARLY ALL settings and conditions.”
Figure 3 on page 11 sums it up: practically all giant deposits come in at a grade between 0.3% and 1% Cu Eq.
So in summary, the average grade of a giant copper porphyry deposit (of tonnage 2-10BT where I put Cascabel total tonnage, based on company estimates) is between 0.3-1% Cu Eq, and this type of deposit tends to be economic under almost all conditions. DYOR as always. Good luck all

Usual stuff at the moment. Our joint DGR & SOLG CEO indicates the Report is going to be delivered by end of 2017 and of course nothing is announced and the share value of DGR decreases as a result. A short explanatory announcement would have been appreciated by the rest of us as to why delay and when report will be released. Our PR chap is certainly earning his/her wages. Too much to ask for I suppose.
The link: ' http://www.thesharehub.com/' indicated that the report will be released in 2018. Wonder who told them that information. Just forgot to tell the people who actually have skin in the game!
One explanation given on the above UK forum says that the Report was going to delivered by end of 2017 but nothing said about it being released to shareholders. It was suggested that only going to BOD and senior management for their review and released after, with no time table. As if they don't know what is in the report anyway. Leave the rest of shareholders wondering once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
