A couple of years back POW were using the above slide (it's one of theirs) to peddle their wave energy. I got in trouble for saying that their numbers were full of sheet. And now that the DOE has announced that their sunshot goal of 6c/kWh for solar is complete and have announced a new sunshot of 3c/kWh I think we can retrospectively say that I was correct the only other alternative being that prices have crashed in the last two years.
And just to complete the numbers:
Solar <6c/kWh
Onshore Wind <5c/kWh
Offshore wind 7.5c/kWh
Solar thermal 7.5c/kWh
And since you're not allowed to be correct on hotcopper if that makes the company wrong, then it's quite obvious that prices have crashed by up to 80% in two years.
