Solar thermal trial breaks ‘supercritical’ record
CSIRO has used solar energy to generate pressurised ‘supercritical’ steam, at the highest temperatures ever achieved in the world outside of fossil fuel sources. This breakthrough for solar means one day the sun could be used to drive the type of powerful turbines currently only driven by coal or gas.
