Seriously? I could name dozens of matches across Europe I've been too over the last few years that would beat Anfield hands down. Ive only been to one match their in recent years admittedly but that was against ManUtd with a corporate gift ticket. Atmosphere? Very average and plastic by comparison to other matches.I am a football tragic and love to experience the culture of football. It was born out of reading shoot magazine in the 70s. I had the privilege of taking my son on a 2 month euro football blast most recently at the end of 2017. I am an Italian citizen through marriage so it was concentrated there, but overall, best experiences in no particular order in recent times: Inter vSPAL at the San Siro, Napoli v Feyenoord in champions league at Stadio San Paulo and hadjuk split v Dinamo Zagreb at the poljud. (Scary that one). All up best atmospheres in my life were: Sydney FC v Wanderers at the sfs yr 2 derby when sold out ( there is a copa 90 YouTube story on this), Now that might surprise but the level of noise was beyond belief. Rangers v Celtic FA cup semi in 1996, besiktas v Galatasaray 2008. Many years ago i was backpacking through sth America and managed to get to a Gremio match, which was something you can only do when you are young...that was cool, but you need to know someone for those ones to keep in one piece. My First UK big match experience was a scalped ticket to ManU v Liverpool at Old Trafford in 1990. I still have the ticket...12£.That was probably the best of it, even after going g to loads of matches since then in the UK. I even once jumped the fence in the sleet in 96 to see Stenhousemuir v Clyde fc! Overall, still maintain EPL rsther low on the atmosphere list.
