The atmosphere on the stadiums, across Europe, has been devastatingly sterilized in comparison to decades ago.
Especially in England, where atmosphere was always dull by comparison (with exception of Liverpool, with it's more vocal crowds)
You're right there.
But it has nothing to do with who can afford to go to match.
It's the years of enforcing policies on stadiums on what fans can and can't do.
Together with changing society on what's acceptable and what not: you have very different atmosphere on the stadiums.
I guess if one reminisced about times gone by, atmosphere is pretty dull and sterile by comparison.
