I think that from a pure business perspective if KS believes the shares are worth significantly more than they cost then he probably will move (months ago AV suggested the shares should be valued at $5 - althuogh this came down rather quickly). As for the concept of using the iron ore connections to further his other business, why not vetically integrate the entire operation? To be in control of every step (after all he also has interests in Chinese banking) would see profit opportunity at every level.

There has been speculation in the past few years (in this site) that KS may have the end goal of a compulsory takeover, but I think it would be closer to $5 to satisfy all of the top 20 holders and the die-hard minnows that would be out there.

I am certainly viewing jumping back in once we have two incomes again - if the company is still listed in 18 months that is. ;)
