so what do the shorters want next, page-6

Now if you actually own some MOF, and you have the offer to buy at 20c next week, then it makes some sense to sell the ones you already own at say 30c, and buy the new ones at 20c. For sure.

But that is not shorting. That is selling the ones you already own and buying back cheaper. Its a different thing.

Also, if the instos which were lucky enough to get the 20c placement ( in addition to the rights issue ), want to take a good profit by selling at 30c, well thats not shorting either.

The ASX statistics for Monday allegedly show that a large proportion of the MOF shares sold on monday were short sales.

My question is, what is the motivation for this ?

It would appear that following this capital raising, MOF is now stabilised. Isn't it ?

It would appear that even on a pessimistic view of office prices, and despite the dilutionary effect of the capital raising, the intrinsic value of MOF is well above 20c. Isn't it ?

Its not clear at all to me how shorting MOF down to below 25c makes any sense for anyone.
