I actually thought the Jaya acquisition was well timed, spending AUD when they were high to enter a growth market.
The consensus was that oil production was going to struggle to keep up with growth, so oil prices as low as $28 was inconceivable, and interest rates were very low (and remain so) meaning debt financing was an OK option.
I, and the board, have been proved wrong.
But if the oil price had stayed high another 18 months things would be looking a lot rosier.
But there is nobody as friendless as the board that watched over 90% shareholder value destroyed!
