Just my thoughts on the sell off of Friday and today. So far, a total of about 67 million shares have changed hands -representing around 15% of the total shares on issue. This may be just retail shareholders bailing because of 3 months of supressed selling - or, it may well be Atlas has sold down some of its holding.
If you listen to the BRR interview as I have now twice, Vince Algar on two occasions made a statement in regard to the major shareholder who has 45% of the shares in SRR, that "we believe we have their ongoing support going forward". It was not the most convincing or positive statement he could have made, in my opinion. In addition, midway throught the interview he also made another curious comment which was:
"we need new shareholders to come on and take a stake in the story".
From that one could infer either - new shareholders to take up shares that Atlas are selling down; or it could also mean that a capital raising is not too far off. On the other hand - it may mean neither, but why say it?
I still like the story, but the resource has yet to be upgraded from inferred to indicated category, which is the process being undertaken with the feasibility study at present. Hopefully, we can be confident of a good report on this by the end of March, and with start of production to go ahead in 2012 as he stated.
If it is Atlas selling down, we should know on Monday with a change in substantial shareholder announcement.
