Flamming - I know Confucus advises that "bottom pickers usually end with dirty fingers" but I believe this is the bottom of the current trading range .... maybe wrong, but unless POG goes way down or AUD goes through the roof for a protracted period, or VE change their mind again and dump all their holding, it should be a reasonably safe trade ... not looking for baggers.
As long as SLR meet their last quarter guidance, their hedging will see them through the turbulence of contrary POG & AUD movements - only Trump accidentally starting a nuclear war while trying to tweet while on the throne, will cause an irreversible meltdown of the SLR SP from here. Not sexy but (hopefully) safe.
Van Eyk's last substantial shareholder notification was on 21/9/17 when the announced they had increased their holding from 28,244,629 shares (5.61%) to 33,282,735 (6.61%). As 'nordesmic' explained, the ETF adjustments are determined by the combined price & volume performance etc. If SLR comes out with a good sound quarter, and if they get some re-rates and if stars align and no SNAFU's .... then VE may have to increase their holding and kick off another SP surge ??
I have just received my contract note from Ord's for the 500,000 @ $0.41.
My broker was buying piecemeal throughout the day through both ASX & chi-X.... my money is where my mouth is which is more than most HC posters can say. Currently, 1.6m shares have changed hands up till now, and, it makes you wonder though whether my buying stopped SLR testing 40c ?? ..... that certainly was not my intention - that's impossible and to attempt such would be sheer folly. Tomorrow is another day. I expect continued volatility till after SLR publishes their next quarterly, which should confirm SLR's consolidation.
If I'm wrong I dare say there will be considerable schadenfreude in the HC community ... such is life.
