SK Innovation have posted their Agenda for the 12th Annual Shareholders meeting on the 21st of March.  

Section relating to the spin off of the battery materials division

Agenda No. 6: Approval of I/E Materials Business Spin-offThe Board of Directors of SK Innovation (hereinafter referred to as “theCompany”) approved the plans to spinoff of its I/E Materials business andestablish a new company (hereinafter referred to as “the New Co.”) on the 27th ofFebruary and the Company shall obtain approval by an extraordinary resolutionfrom a general meeting of shareholders pursuant to Article 530-3 of theCommercial Act.- Purpose and Background
1. I/E Materials Business shall be spun off to establish the New Co. as anindependent company to enhance business competitiveness andmanagement efficiency;
2. The Company shall seek to increase corporate value by securing theflexibility of the business portfolio, enhancing the value of the business,and improving its ability to respond strategically to changes in marketenvironment;
3. The New Co. shall strengthen its core business competitiveness byestablishing a corporate culture and a management system suited to itsbusiness characteristics, and exercising preemptive business strategy.

Not sure what to make of it obviously but I would say that if anyone was going to do a supply deal with SK that it would most likely not be until this new company is formed which is planned for April 1
