launches adver gaming for ch7 25 January 2006 ASX/MEDIA RELEASE Mobile Games Campaign for Channel 7 / Australian Open Hyro Limited ASX: HYO T

he company announces the successful launch of its first “mobile adver-gaming” project to publicise Channel 7’s involvement in the 2006 Australian Open Tennis Championship.

Working with Channel 7 and mobile games developer TigerSpike, Hyro conceived and implemented the multi-channel campaign, using a combination of mobile, online, TV and outdoor advertising to promote the adver-gaming competition for Channel 7. “The competition brings allows Channel 7 to immediately interact with their viewers of the tennis through the use of mobile technology” said Mr Chris Flintoft, Director, Wireless Broadcast for Hyro. “We have gone a step further and have integrated this with ‘smart posters’ located around the tennis venues in Melbourne. These are embedded with HyperTag technology from Aura Networks to further reinforce our client’s involvement in this major sporting event. The HyperTags allow customers an alternate way to deliver the game direct to mobile phones, simply by pointing their handset at the poster and downloading the game there and then.” “Adver-gaming is a very powerful marketing tool” Mr Flintoft said. “Most studies show that an adver-gaming player will use a game around eight times. By integrating this with a competition to lodge scores via SMS and check progress on a website, we establish a campaign with high levels of interaction and cut-through to customers.” Mr Shane Wood, Head of Cross Platform Development at Channel Seven commented “Through the submission of scores to the leader-boards we are able to gain invaluable insight into viewer profiles and behaviour, which means we can see what’s really working for our viewers, even when they are away from the lounge room”
“We are very excited about this campaign for Channel 7” said Mr Richard Lord, Chief Operating Officer of Hyro. “By using a range of marketing channels and some clever technology, we are enabling our client to leverage the power of wireless services in a very tangible way. Each customer who engages in the adver-gaming campaign will have maybe eight, ten or even more interactions with the brand, creating opportunities to push these customers to the TV and/or the websites.” “This is a comprehensive solution” Mr Lord said. “In this case Hyro has advised on the strategy, designed the campaign and all campaign materials, sourced and implemented the content, integrated new technologies, managed the telco relationships, and provided ongoing maintenance and support for our client.” “This is a great example of Hyro in action. We are one of the few companies able to take on such an engagement and successfully support all elements required to achieve a successful outcome” Mr Lord said.
