I hate XMAS.   I am sure there was a significant event and Jesus existed, whether he was a messiah, son of a god, time traveller whatever but it sure did change the world.  So how did it morph into a crass commercial materialistic and gluttonous event.   I am sure I would be happy if a bought my groceries at Coles/ woolies/ Aldi and had a wonderful feast surrounded by perfect people.  Give me lots of presents as well and we could all be happy.  Then if Santa would raise all dog shares for a brief rally such bliss.  The reality is the xmas rush were we pig out amongst people we really do not like or see much but we must be nice coze it is xmas.
Then lets condition the kids into becoming consumers of mass culture, all the hissy fits coz the present was not the one promoted in the media just gets thrown into the toy warehouse and no thanks just give me more.

All I long for is a quiet get together with friends a simple meal and no rush to the next feast.
Hope all are coping with the silly season and market gyrations.
