Why were not the planes "complete" when Boeing makes these safety features that would have likely prevented 2 crashes and avoided the loss of 346 lives. So it is an additional feature that needed the buyer to nominate for inclusion. There is something morally wrong when a plane costing around US$100 million plus does not have everything possible that will keep crew and passages from possible disaster. After the Lion Air crash this situation should have been addressed as an urgent matter, and not wait to see if it would happen again. Boeing top management and their design engineers must re-evaluate where their priorities lie and realize that cost and profit is not the entire rationale for the existence of an aircraft manufacturer.
