We've talked about having an end of year stock picking competition. 

Here is what I propose.

1. Pick one stock which you think is going to fly sometime in 2019. Winner will be the stock which has the greatest gain, from close 31 Dec to its high in 2019. (Hopefully a positive number!) Use this header for your tips:

2. Pick your top 3 stocks for the 1st Quarter next year where the gains will be measured from close 31 Dec to close 29 March and the winning tip will have the highest average for their 3 tips. Use this header for your tips:

2019Q1 AAA, BBB, CCC

Whatever you tip needs to trade on Dec 31 to get a starting price and entries will close at midnight 1 Jan 2019. Please add whatever other detail you want to your post to explain your tips. Try and add enough detail that would have suited the previous competition and is in line with the info we like on these STT threads.

3. Don't enter the competition but just talk about stocks and sectors for next year. General market chit chat is always welcome.

@Dazedandconfused - I'm thinking that if we have tips on another thread (similar to the 5K spinoff thread), there might not be much left for this thread. I like the idea but worry about where it will leave this thread, particularly when we have a bear market. Interested in what others think about your idea. No decisions needed anytime soon. Just something to think about.
