@Silence229 – I have a DMA CFD account with FP Markets and the trade execution platform is IRESS Trader. I have in the past used the Commsec version of IRESS Trader as well. The only good thing or advantage in using IRESS Trader is in the trade execution speed and flexibility. IRESS Trader charting “stinks”, so if it’s charting that you are interested in I would look elsewhere.
My CFD trading strategy will be EOD trading based on pre-determined trade plans. I’ll be using Conditional Orders consisting of a Fixed Order (FO) with an attached OCO (One Cancels the Other) FO pair. The first FO will be triggered when the last traded price occurs within a specified range(limit). This results in a Buy (or Sellfor a short position) order on the market. When that order is executed (completed) the pair of OCO Conditional Orders will be sitting in IRESS waiting to be triggered when my protective stop price is reached or my profit stop price is reached. When one of these conditions occur therelated order is placed on the market and the remaining conditional order is cancelled (deleted). All automatic,enter the conditional orders prior to market open then wait and see what happens.
I’m pretty sure you can use this IRESS conditional order functionality with CommSec share trading, but you have to pay for the IRESS platform ($70 per month I think), or make a minimum number of trades to get it for free. FP Markets have a zero margin (leverage) DMA CFD account that has no financing/holding costs, that looks appealing if you are intending to do what I consider to be short term trading, i.e. trades of 1 to 3 days duration with a max of 5 days.
