The reason I suggested an end of year competition is because it's a time of reflection and looking ahead. In the last week of December, we inevitably get posters talking about the stocks they think are going to be hot next year. So I thought it would be a good idea to be organised in advance rather than a mad scramble to get tips together like we did in June for the financial year one. Keep it simple so it's easy to collate and if it has the same start and end date, it should be easily measurable without any complexities.
I'm hoping either @Freehold or @ColonialCousin might be able to screenscrape if we make a template and then just post the table every month like @ArthurDent has been doing for the financial year one.
Some people are interested and some are not. Whatever happens, it will be interesting to see what everyone thinks will be good stocks for next year, regardless of whether it's just for the first quarter or the whole year.
