It's incredibly hard to be forward looking beyond a quarter, or even shorter. Some people do it well, most don't. I remember that biotech competition we had with roaminoz. The winners were mostly unexpected and the popular stocks pretty much underperformed.
Maybe we should consider a shorter timeframe as well. Pick a stock of the year (for the whole year) and a stock just for the first quarter?
