All debt and project funding already secured, Right up to DFS / decision to mine in 9 months so should be sweet, and if that’s the outcome will be a very different looking resource and company that’s for sure. I am quietly confident this resource is going to get a target upgrade very soon too.
The ASX waiver is moot - I think they will grant it (resolution only expired by like 2 weeks and register is largely unchanged, but if not, they will just pay cash or push through an EGM in a few weeks , almost zero risk in it.
The election outcome is actually good for the country and good for miners, new bloke is very anti-corruption which will mean all those relationships forged in country by the Vector team are going to go even further. Even if the dispute sees a replacement that’s a good outcome still, and is who everyone expected to win - the key is the change and either of the opposition getting in (not the incumbents hand picked puppet!). Little bit of short term teething, and yes the media will spin it hard because it loves the drama - but this has been one of the smoothest and most peaceful DRC elections in quite a few decades (ever?) - plus the whole thing was an electronic vote so go figure. So no conerns for me, but yes regardless DRC does carry a bit more risk than Aus and is a little messier - not for the faint of heart, but where there’s risk, there’s reward?
Anglo chose Kibali over AK because they had to divest and reduce exploration assets and expenditure given where the company was at the time - they were actually going full steam ahead on it until they had to make a choice basically - I did a post on this a while ago in VEC threads and working on digging that out to address the ‘popular questions’ such as this which have been discussed in detail over the long year that was 2018. Think I’ve actually got a video of the chairman’s address from when it happened too, so i’ll share the link to that post later next week if people are interested?
No criticisms taken at all, I am not the stock lol, all good questions and some of the obvious risks / key questions to be understood for VEC.
Cheers, Zest
