Well a couple of things I notice apart from my data issues and new HC website are that Ive noticed a trend of reduced participation in the Comp especially by the historic upper performing accuracy leaders. We just seem to just not be able to retain them here. They come into the comp get an accuracy jersey and fade away a few months later ie the likes of Forrestfield, Mouse, Sectorlead etc and many others too numerous to mention.
On doing my own back testing of STT Comp entries I could see that there are deficiencies in the Comp System especially when various standard stop loss regimes (Ie Basic Trailing 15, 20 and 30%) were applied meaning that even though a stock may be a 25% winner it would have been v.difficult to profit from it without getting stopped out several times. So that would require significant rule changes and programming changes to test and measure accurately.
Also I notice the general reduced readership on the STT Threads generally lately (Last 12 months) which is more than just market conditions (Perhaps twitter and Cypto lure eating into reader base). There was a time where the weekly and Weekend threads were getting a combined 120k reads a week. Although this was a peak of market.
So perhaps the data issues and new HC changes are an omen that things need to change or be refreshed or to progress as perhaps they are getting a bit stale. I will ponder this as I getting my act together and perhaps could trigger some constructive discussion from others as to the future direction here at the STT.
In the mean time... There is absolutely no reason why folks can't still lob in their recommendations backed up solid FA and TA descriptions for either pure altruistic reasons or for those seeking STT kudos/recognition... its just that they will not receive a weekly comp stat and jersey but it still easy to see who the legends are IMO.
Anyways Topic is open to constructive discussion...
