The thing that I always loved about the tipping comp that Freehold set up , was that it gave everyone a chance to feel good about improving . You could feel good about the results each week , as long as you could see progress. For example - you might be coming 20th in the comp, and the next week you discover that you are now sitting at 18th - reason to feel good . Especially if you beat someone that you have respect for. The genuine re-rates catches results that are exceptional , but may actually show up as failure without that award, as they just missed that month cut off - and they may have even gone up 20% in that month - but not the required 25%. . I always thought the structure of the comp was exceptional , as it didn't just reward the top person. Confidence is vital in trading , and an improvement in results can allow us to maintain confidence - especially for those that are tipping well - but just missing that 25% cut off mark.
