    Gotta,

You may be right. 5 years ago, I would have done exactly as you advise and continued buying into the slump.

But, one unfulfilled promise after another for the last 10 years has me very gun shy.

I guess what worries me is that the conditions of the merger/take over will be as transparent as a brick wall.. One thing for certain, Super Soco has all the cards, there’s no reason for them  to be fair or generous to Vmoto shareholders. And for sure, they won’t be, to expect otherwise is naive.

Vmoto brings nothing to the table but a factory and an unaudited pile of cash. I doubt that the much vaunted licence to manufacture scooters is worth more than the paper it’s printed on - otherwise, it would have been leveraged by now if it was so unique and desirable. Everything is negotiable in China and a niche scooter manufacturer is not indispensable.

So that brings us to the factory and the cash. I’d just be grateful for an honest fair market value for the factory, after the Haiyong debacle, I doubt we’d even get that. As for the cash, let’s just hope that the Super Soco vacuum cleaner isnt already hooked into the VMT accounts and commencing cash hoovering operations.

Im sorry for my negativity, but like you I’ve been beaten over the head with a bat by VMT onetime too many. I sincerely hope I’m wrong. Sadly, I have history on my side.

As for Charles mopping up of shares? It could be to ensure he has sufficient voting power , or that a large controlling block of shares will be worth much more than the market value.  To date, any news and media releases from the company have been what Joh Bjelke-Petersen used to call “feeding the chooks”. Throwing scraps to desperate shareholders.

I’m sure there are lots of interesting plays going on behind the scenes. That Brisbane based SMSF which controls around 10% is very, very interesting. I see they are big in quite a few other China based investments. Clearly, there’s more than meets the eye.

You could write a novel about the intrigues around Vmoto over the past 15 years.
