Yeah, but that's just the media. Economists have now moved into Behavioral Economics and have found that human beings place far too much emphasis on what are essentially short term one off factors in decision making. Recognising this is a royal route to profit in the market-dont be a sheep. Rather be a wolf and eat sheep.
What is the big picture? Hows this:From report by CEO yesterday:
Gross revenue: 2003 $567m 2007 $1.03 bn.
Gross margin: 2003 43% 2007 % 58%
Net expenses: 2003 27.4% 2007 19.1%
Compound average year on year price growth for last 5 years 7.7%pa, trending up.
Debt: 0.5 EBITA. Interest cover: 29 x.
VV strong balance sheet. Continuing share buyback- excellent cash flow. Dividends 4 times PA. 60-70% payout.
Very shareholder friendly company.
Drivers of earnings intact.
Underlying trends positive.
Robust and sustainable business model.
Strong exposure to Asian and developing world growth.
Re entering the US stepper machine market. Increasing penetration of video machine market in the USA.
New product line coming in a lot of buyers have been waiting for before replacing existing stock.
Many Oz Pokie owners have been putting off replacement but when their competitors start getting the new products they will lose business. Playtime per machine on the new gear 20-400% higher than on the increasingly obsolete existing floor stock which is now too old in any cases-computer based.
This business is one of the best in Australia and in just about every way, anyone shorthing this one down so I can buy some back is doing me a favour. This thing is a locomotive of rare quality. Above all, very high barriers to entry of new competition because of the licensing requirements every step of the way. Want to short it down in the basis of some little court case? Looks a bit like all the crapola about the sky falling in when some Colombian cheat wouldnt/couldnt pay for his machines he bought on credit back a way. What a kerfuffle and what an opportunity! Where do you get stock in a business like this, cheap? Only when mugs are selling. Come on sheepies! In looking for sheep....... on the spit roast. Im not a vegetarian you see....Heh heh heh.
Oh yeah-return on capital around 50%. Beat that! Consistently? Any of you guys ever done accounting? Worthwhile. Ta Mr Blackburn. Im going to have a bigger tax problem than you. Want to sell me your forest? Its right near mine. Oh shorters youre starting to turn me OOOOOOONNNNNNN!
