"Unless you in a position to make change the "morality" of a company is meaningless, like the majority of jobs for the wage slaves in any state capitalist economy."
Yes this is true, but not quite what I was saying. I'm saying that systems can exist and self-regulate which have a moral value (good or bad) to society. In this case, the system of capitalism means that lawyers working amorally out of self interest and motivated by money can obviously bring about a moral good - the compensation of unempowered individuals when they are wronged by those more powerful than them. Capitalism itself can regulate proper corporate behaviour in this way - as long as the legal system remains incorrupted by those with more power and money, and I would argue this is mainly the case in Australia.
" maybe Johnson and Johnson pays a fine. " - Had to chuckle here. They do indeed pay a fine, only about 1.28 billion a year in litigation costs. In the US, quite a capitalist company, you will see that individual nobodies have received 40m+ from claiming talcum powder caused their cancer

"and a truly horrendous act gets legitimized in the eyes of the law." - Actually no this isn't what I would call legitimized. J&J pay this settlement money fearing that that if they don't the judge will hand down a damaging verdict, damage their reputation and have to pay possibly more compensation and or other restrictions on their business. They are in fact paying this money so a verdict isn't recorded and their immoral actions aren't legitimized or found at fault by any legal body. Rather they come to a mutually beneficial agreement with the claimant which suits both interested parties. Even in an anarchist type court this is often a good outcome.
What type of system would you propose anyway, other than capitalism and lawyers to resolve grievances?
