40% house brands indeed...may work in a country with 70 million not 20 million. They tried it before and failed. The consumer wants brand choice and is educated to understand house brand to be lower quality where as Tescos and Sainsburys use house brands as premium products. They are currently sacking around 30% of their supermarket head office staff and consolidating the buying teams of bilo and coles. ho hum! No doubt the bilo franchise will come under pressure to be absorbed under the coles name with coles keeping the bilo brand as its generic.
Whats the bet of a new CEO with in 24 months or less.
Earnings will have to compete against this years supported with petrol.
