Introduction of new CEO is a useful step in succession planning. The change from old guard is a plus in presentation for sale.
Options to employees to keep them motivated in near term.
Wouldn't it be nice if they already had a win or two lined up for the new CEO as part of the 'presentation for sale' process? What could they sell off to make the core business more attractive to lurking, interested parties?
Not much downside I think.
