So they pay out a special dividend to keep short sighted investors like you happy. Then in six months they need to raise money to complete the value enhancing expansion plans (money generated expected to be far greater than cash used), and the SP falls 20% to the issue price. Thats why they dont do that. And if you think AUD gold is going to 1300 why are you dabbling in this space?
