Hey Tinwins, I buy stocks directly.. The only time I would ever consider an LIC is at a very big discount which is why I took a quick look at ALF and TOP.
There are one or two I am considering buying but will wait till I do before I disclose them.. Sorry.
As for TOP it only holds a few big positions so if you like the manager for there skills but do won't to pay the egregious fees and give away half your profits.
Just replicate the portfolio by buying MNY, AMA, ANG, SSM, TPE, FJX, ISU and there you have it. Even if you underperform their returns slightly you will be miles in front after not paying those fees.
If you really won't to do it properly you could work out there approximate position sizes from there substantial holder notices. Hope that helps.
