Yeah $2.5million its a wake up call isn’t it! Scary!
Fortunately with all the assumptions that had to be made I could be way off the mark, unfortunately “way off” works both ways.

We can reasonably predict what the outcome is with a safe conservative investment, this predictability makes it ideal to be the mainstay for those of us who have much shorter time frames.
Lots would argue the mainstay for those whose time frames can weather 4-5 years of negative or nil returns should be investments whose return is more variable. The theory being time derisks/nullifys the bad years and the good years are extraordinary (the wam lic with its 14fold increase as an example).

You are well ahead of most. Do your sums have a plan and you’ll be a lot closer than before. Perhaps it’s time to have a chat with a professional, I have and the breadth of possibilities was larger than I’d imagined.
