gassed, its a harsh reality that some players in the market have more information than others - the fancy consulting term for it is "information asymmetry". Some players have an information advantage over others, and generally retail investors/traders are at the bottom of the food chain. That's the way its always been and probably will continue to be.

Rather than getting all John McEnroe on posters stating what the reality is and trying to contirbute, think about why we are here on HC - this forum is here for us to use and if we are smart about how we use it we can overcome some of the disadvantages associated with information asymmetry. Have a look at what is achieved on the STT - a fantastic example of posters contributing in collaboratively in a positive environment. None of the ansgt displayed here when STT'ers get their tips wrong. They are all there to share and/or learn.

Why on earth can that not be the case on stock-specific threads? Here we have 3 of probably the top 10 (imo) most knowledgeable HC posters in the O&G sector and they are trying to share information and all they get is grief. Yet on one stock-specific thread after another (its not just AKK) we get this kind of dynamic. I agree there are often posters who are acting maliciously as downrampers, but that is not always the case.

Instead, we should be smart about how we use this forum so by sharing what we know in a positive environment we can make up for some of that information asymmetry that the brokers and insto's (and company managements) use treat us like Marcellus Wallace over that barrel in the dungeon in Pulp Fiction.

If you want to make yourself feel good while you are losing money go ahead, but I and others are here because this forum if we use it smartly can help us to make money, and in the process have some fun, learn & share, etc.

I suggest you don't shoot the messenger, instead take off the rose coloured glasses and take a good hard look at the management team you're backing.

    Cheers, Sharks.
