I really don't think anyone buys a penny gold stock like SLR for dividend returns. Or any other junior gold stocks for that matter. Even if someone is buying NST, RRL or SBM for dividend, that is not a very wise decision in my book. No....I don't think anyone does that.
Most people buy gold stocks for capital gain, and the speculative gain which revolves around the gold sector. People interested in dividend don't dwell around gold sector rather in the blue chips.
Perhaps SLR is not so attractive in terms of speculation but remains a very solid company.
SLR has a high AISC and will remain a high AISC producer, but albeit it still makes a profit. The proof is the slow and steady cash on hand increase since 2015. They have been working with the short LOM forever and will continue to do so in the future. There was a time they would be mining & producing even without any reserves.
In hindsight the time to sell this was in beginning of this year from 50-79c run( gold price was not even 1200 dollars), a lot of the posters were calling for higher price targets from $1 upwards. Now most of them are bearish and talking about how bad this company is.........but I believe the fundamentals for this company has only become better.
