A more recent one is Wesfarmers, they bought Homebase for about 350 mil quid a few years ago, changed its name to Bunnings and ended up losing about a billion. They sold it a few weeks back for a $1.
It's unbelievable they actually get paid money to lose, some of them even keep their jobs.
