Sure - lots of people can have lots of opinions, and any of those opinion might be a candidate for the objective truth. However, a candidate opinion is really only a viable candidate for truth IF it is informed, based on actual fact and considered. The view that "SFG will get NAIF money" is really limited because it's a hope. Once again, no one has presented a counter-argument to the literally thousands of words of analysis I've written on that topic - and I find that pretty disrespectful. If you disagree with my analysis, show me the courtesy of a meaningful, cited argument as to why it's wrong.
You all keep focusing on one sentence in a powerpoint presentation - a sentence so full of qualifiers that it's meaningless. I had a discussion with my boss about a $50k payrise, I have this discussion with him every few months - but it isn't going to happen. I have discussions with my partner about him putting his damned socks in the hamper - but guess what? that's not happening either.
I'm simply asking you people to please keep NAIF in perspective - SFG might get a relatively small amount of money for some ancillary works - which would be a good use of tax-payer money to help underwrite the indigenous employment that PSD will bring - but as a tax payer, would you want them funding someone like say Tassal to build the biggest Salmon farm in the world so that Tassal could keep the profits? It just doesn't make sense - and as I have demonstrated in thousands of words of fully cited analysis on this thread simply is not permitted to do what you believe will happen.
If you want me to take you seriously, put together an argument that is based on detail like law, public policy, precedent, and the definition of "economic infrastructure" as used in economics and public administration and I'll be thrilled to have a meaningful discussion about it, otherwise take your money and put it in low-cost index fund where you don't need to really think about stuff. You'll make more money and do better over the long-run.
