If Y-2 is a success, and more importantly the market SEES a success, then it would be difficult for any predator to move given the strong support shareholders have and an increasing share price.
But if we have another inconclusive well but with potential, the sp will probably drop but geologists might see the potential and before you know it - BAM! (just like when Hovea first flowed oil - TAP moved fast) .. Easier to takeover a faltering company than one with new life.
Of course if Y-2 is a complete dud .. then why would anyone want ARQ if the Canning remains a graveyard?
