In response to your query, do you really think firms are hiring people for high frequency trading with 'the latest technologies' and they aren't computers? Perhaps they're referring to a new age abacus?

Bot trading, computer trading, quant trading, call it whatever you want, is undeniably real and if you're not familiar with it, it might be a good idea to get to know it because these types of trades account for a significant portion of trades on the ASX.
