BKL is hard to short as there is very little stock around to borrow. I use Interactive Brokers, and they allow me to short almost any stock. There has never been any stock around to allow shorting BKL in the last 2 years. Also, if there is stock available the fee would be 9%, so not a good trade
Perhaps if anyone is shorting they would be using CFD's to create a synthetic short.
