For it to truly happen the resistance has to become the new support.

That is more likely to happen from a strong push past 3.5-3.6 , followed by a drop back to 3.4 (just sitting there and going no lower) then either accumulation @3.4 and above. Followed by another push.

You have to think of the psychological side of it as well, if the support keeps tightening but never pushes past 3.4, people will start getting bored/scared and sell down.
