RE: Tax loss - I am no tax expert, but from my limited experience, i think the news is bad. It will (eventually) be a capital loss for capital gains tax purposes, but this only happens when a capital gain event is triggerred. As the shares are no longer listed, you cannot trigger the event by selling. I think when eventually the company is wound up the trigger happens. ie. I don't think you can claim as a general deduction against income.
