BRW Rich Lister Paul Little is working closely with ASX-listed SeaLink Travel Group on plans to run passenger ferry services into Melbourne's Docklands precinct from the Victorian coastal town of Portarlington and two western Melbourne locations.
Mr Little has been in discussions with SeaLink, which runs Captain Cook Cruises and other ferry services on Sydney Harbour along with the ferry to Kangaroo Island off South Australia, about the potential for the new services as the fast-growing population puts more pressure on Melbourne's congested roads and transport infrastructure.
Mr Little – estimated to have a personal fortune of $780 million in the latest BRW Rich List and who has been under fire as chairman of Essendon in the Australian Football League – runs a large property development company known as Little Projects after exiting as boss of transport giant Toll Holdings.
